Itten's colour theory
Johannes Itten had a colour theory at which you only need three colours to make every other colour those colours ar red yellow and blue those are called the primary colours. When you mix the primary colours you get secondary colours so when you mic red and yellow you get orange, red and blue violet and blue and yellow you get green so orange, violet and green are the secondary colours. You can also add tint and shade to the colours with white and black to make it lighter of darker. Tertiary colours are formed when you mix a primary colour with a secondary colour like blue+violet= blue violet all the tertiary colours are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue violet, blue-green and yellow-green. And then the Complementary colours are the opposite on the colour wheel like red and green, yellow and violet and blue an orange.
